Congratulations to the little master on his historic double century

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar became the only player to score a double ton for a world record during the second One-dayer against South Africa in Gwalior. The double century came off just 147 balls and was a complete master piece from the master batsman. With 200 runs, the little master also broke Saeed Anwar and Charles Coventry's record of 194 runs respectively. Tendulkar smashed 25 fours and 3 sixes during his marathon innings, much to the delight of the crowds at Captain Roop Singh Stadium. Let's congratulate Sachin Tendulkar for adding yet another feather in his cap.

Cochin Haneefa dead

COCHIN HANEEFA ( 1951-2010 )
The actor Cochin Haneefa died on 02 February 2010, it was as much a loss for the Malayalam film industry as it was for the Tamil industry
The actor, who also made a mark as script and screenplay writer, dialogue writer and director, was known for his portrayal of character roles in Tamil films. He was at ease with comedy, too.

ഏലംകുളം മനക്കല്‍ ശങ്കരന്‍ നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാട്‌ അഥവാ ഇ. എം. എസ്‌. നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാട്‌ (ആംഗലേയത്തില്‍ E.M.S. Namboodiripad, ജൂണ്‍ 13, 1909 പെരിന്തല്‍മണ്ണ - മാര്‍ച്ച് 19, 1998 തിരുവനന്തപുരം) ഇന്ത്യന്‍ മാര്‍ക്സിസ്റ്റ്-കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് നേതാവും ഐക്യകേരളത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുമായിരുന്നു. ജനാധിപത്യ പ്രക്രിയയിലൂടെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ലോകത്തിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ്‌ സര്‍ക്കാരുകളിലൊന്നിന്റെ തലവനെന്ന നിലയിലും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. ചരിത്രകാരന്‍, മാര്‍ക്സിസ്റ്റ്‌ തത്ത്വശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞന്‍, സമൂഹിക പരിഷ്ക്കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ എന്നീ നിലകളില്‍ പ്രശസ്തനായ അദ്ദേഹം ആധുനിക കേരളത്തിന്റെ ശില്‍പികളില്‍ പ്രധാനിയാണ്‌.

JYOTI BASU

JYOTI BASU (1914-2010). Born in India, Jyoti Basu is known primarily for his many-sided elaboration in practice (although not in theory) of a combination of Communist parliamentary and extra parliamentary political tactics aimed at establishing a seemingly indestructible Communist control over some of the levers of the state-level political power in West Bengal (India). A pioneer in such politics in India since 1945, and still its most successful exemplar in 1984, Basu was elevated to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (CPI) for the first time in June 1950, resigned in december 1950, but rejoined in April 1951. He has been a member of Central Committee and Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI[M]) since its foundation in 1964.
